Housekeeping

The party is fast approaching. Just wanted to get a couple of reminders out there. I think that everyone has their rooms confirmed at either Duvall or Yogo. Jan's done a great job keeping us all coordinated. If you have any questions, she'd probably be the best person to ask.

For the dinner on May 25, we need to contact the Duvall Inn directly to let them know our meal preference. Please call the Duval Inn at 406-538-7063 by May 19th (that's next Monday, just a week from today). The choices are

1. Pork Tenderloin with Juniperberry Sauce $20.00
2. Swedish Meatballs $10.50

------

Finally, Grandma asks that we not bring presents.

So, are you ready? I know that those of us in Rochester are getting very excited to see everyone, for the road trip, and for vacation. It's coming up soon.

One month to go

Exactly one month from today we will be celebrating with Grandma! I am so excited to see everyone and catch up. Thought it might be fun to use the poll function of this blog site to get us psyched up. See the poll to the right, and vote for your choice (or choices). I'll change the questions every couple of days if there's any interest. Emily and I came up with a few few questions, but if you have other ideas, please let me know.

Accomodations

Jan has been nice enough to hold rooms at the Yogo Inn for those of us who can stay there, but she asked me to let you all know that there are only 3 rooms left. Please let her know as soon as possible if you'd like one. Also for those of you who have already confirmed rooms with Jan (Entzels, Carlsons, and Dalbeys) can you please confirm with Jan which nights you'll be there? For the Carlsons (all 3 rooms) we are planning to be there Saturday and Sunday night (May 24 & 25). Thanks!

Let's go way back, way back when

Mom's finding more pictures. This one is from the time before the world had any color. What a dreary world it must have been. Actually this is one of the few pictures that I find it hard to distinguish Tim from Bruce. Probably would be tough to tell Helen from Barb, except for the ages and the unmistakable smile vs scowl. Also, love the hair (or lack of it, Keith). Did Carol spend the night in curlers too, or did she get out of that fun somehow? And we can't leave out the 8th Wood. By this time color had entered the world but it was a grainy washed out kind of color. It's strange, I remember the day this shot was taken (in Edmonton around 1982) and my memories are all about this color too. Either that or the endless winter/snow of this year is influencing my memories.
Can anyone provide details about either of these shots, or do you have any others you'd like me to post and/or discuss?

How Time Flies, Part II

OK, I just put a ticker on the heading of this page, which tells us that Grandma's birthday is 1 month, 4 weeks, and 1 day away. To me, that doesn't seem quite right, because it somehow implies that the bash is on a Thursday (with the one day part). But I guess it's kind of like algebra (or what I remember of algebra) in that you have to do the calculations in a certain order. 1 month from today would be Sat. April 26. 4 weeks from that would be Sat, May 24. 1 Day from that will be Sunday, May 25, so it all works out.

Hard to believe it's already that close. Hope you're making plans to attend. Any questions for me or the group you'd like posted here?

How time flies

Mom sent me this picture taken on Grandma's 80th. Can it really be 10 years, aren't these kids all the same ages now?
